Senior General Accountant

Job description
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and reconciliations in compliance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and statements for management review.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial data is accurate.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, trading, and operations, to support business initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, recommending process improvements as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years and up to 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing financial statements and managing general ledger functions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience supporting audits and implementing internal controls.
