Position Summary :
The Human Resource Officer will support HR functions by ensuring accurate attendance tracking, efficient leave management, and maintenance of staff records. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a good understanding of HR operations in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Attendance Management
- Monitor daily attendance for casual and permanent staff.
- Ensure timely reporting and escalation of attendance-related issues.
- Coordinate with supervisors to verify and reconcile attendance records.
Leave Administration
Track and update leave balances for all staff.Ensure leave applications are properly documented, approved, and updated in the system.Generate periodic leave reports for management.Records and File Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, both physical and electronic.Ensure staff documentation (contracts, appraisals, disciplinary actions, etc.) is well recorded and securely stored.HR Support Services
Assist with onboarding of new staff and maintaining staff induction records.Participate in disciplinary procedures by documenting proceedings and updating records.Support performance review tracking and follow-ups.Employee Engagement & Communication
Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from staff.Promote good employee relations and ensure HR policies are understood by all employees.Support the HR Manager in staff welfare initiatives and communication.Any other duties assignedSkills, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.Minimum of 1 year of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Solid knowledge of attendance and leave management systems.Proficiency in maintaining accurate HR records and files.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Working knowledge of Ugandan labor laws is an added advantage.
