The role of Program Support Specialist – WASH will provide subject matter expertise regarding the design and implementation of WaSH CIV interventions. This role will collaborate with other Program Support Specialists, Program Trainers and the Partnership team to ensure Compassion staff and Frontline Church Partners have appropriate support in the design, delivery and monitoring of interventions related to their expertise.
Responsibilities :

- Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
- Serve as a SME to leadership in developing annual national intervention strategies with other relevant Program Support Specialists.
- Collaboratively design / plan interventions aligned with the national office strategy.
- Support implementation and reporting of interventions.
- Stay current with national policies, industry standards and best field practices.
- Develop and maintain networks for partnerships, strategic alliances and local resource mobilization.
- Use programmatic data to improve intervention effectiveness.
- Review and analyze relevant information received from the Monitoring & Evaluation Specialists and the GMC Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Team to determine the most appropriate interventions that will result to the achievement of Outcomes.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering with speciality in water, water resources engineering, civil engineering specialising in water or relevant technical field or experience.At least 3- 5 years' experience in implementing Water Access Sanitation and Hygiene projects and or programs.Understanding of Program Cycle Management.Project Management experience.Knowledge of Data Analysis & Application and Monitoring & Evaluation.Community development experience.Cross-sectoral integration with sectors such as GEDSI, Livelihood, and Environmental stewardship.Knowledge of evidence-based interventions such as a Germs Journey Handwashing Curriculum and Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage Training.Knowledge in GIS and remote sensing.Knowledge in ArchiCAD or equivalent.Knowledge in water design analysis software such Epanet, among others.PMP Certification will be an added advantage.Registration with a WaSH engineering body will be an added advantage.Equivalent education, training and / or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above.Skills & Competencies :
