Company and Job Description :
A leading player in the trading and distribution space is seeking a Sales Manager to oversee and grow their Polymers portfolio within Uganda.
The role will focus on expanding market presence, driving sales volumes, deepening customer relationships, and optimising operational performance across the value chainfrom demand generation to credit management.
You will report directly to the Business Head and will play a strategic role in shaping product positioning, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring the achievement of revenue, tonnage, and margin targets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Grow the Polymers business by developing new customers and strengthening existing client relationships.
- Drive business development efforts to achieve sales, tonnage, revenue, and gross margin targets.
- Conduct market mapping, research, and analysis to identify new product opportunities and inform commercial strategy.
- Manage customer payments, credit limits, and debtors reconciliations while monitoring credit risk.
- Oversee operational costs related to clearing, warehousing, transport, and distribution, ensuring efficiency and cost reduction.
- Maintain a strong market presence through regular customer visits, networking, and a proactive understanding of customer requirements.
Job Experience and Skills Required :
Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferred) or a related technical field.Minimum of 5+ years experience in Polymer sales; exposure to Polyethene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) is an added advantage.Experience in the Ugandan market or other African markets is highly desirable.Strong understanding of plastics, polymers, and associated distribution channels.Demonstrated experience in managing customer relationships, credit limits, and sales pipelines.Strong analytical skills with solid commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.Apply now!
