Job description

We are looking for an experienced hardworking technician for our client in the Telecom Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting telecom and network installation activities by performing mechanical installations, routing cables, making electrical connections, and mounting equipment, all under the guidance and supervision of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the installation of telecom cabinets, switches, servers, and routers on-site.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical terminations, along with comprehensive testing of equipment.

Install, route, and terminate copper and fiber optic cables in accordance with site

layouts.

  • Modify power cabinets as required and conduct detailed circuit testing.
  • Execute functional and operational tests under supervision to ensure system performance.
  • Maintain and care for tools and equipment, promptly reporting any faults or issues

    • Follow and promote site safety procedures, ensuring proper use of personal

    protective equipment (PPE).

    Participate in site safety audits, drills, and toolbox talks to maintain a safe work

    environment.

    Assist in ensuring that all installation activities comply with project standards and

    regulatory requirements

    Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Craft Certificate in Electrical or Telecommunications.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in the installation of telecom or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of cabling standards and electrical testing procedures.
  • Be registered with the relevant Ugandan technical regulatory body.
  • Hold a valid OSHA certification and complete mandatory site induction training.

    • Demonstrated commitment to following safe work practices and proper use of full

    personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Experience participating in HSE inspections and audits, with a strong track record of timely safety incident reporting
